Hours of Operation

The Levitow fitness center mainly serves SAFB’s permanent party population, including active-duty military and their dependents, TDY, retirees, and Department of Defense employees. The Levitow also offers 24-hour access for eligible cardholders, as well as a parent-child room for parents with children six and under.

Monday – Friday 5 am - 9:30 pm
Saturday - Sunday 7 am - 6 pm

The Pitsenbarger fitness center is open to all SAFB populations, including Airmen in Training. The Pitsenbarger also offers DV Locker Rooms for distinguished visitors and those ranking O-6/E-9 and above.

Sheppard Air Force Base is home to the Pitsenbarger Fitness Center and the Levitow Fitness Center. Both fitness centers provide a wide variety of cardio and strength equipment, aerobics rooms, basketball courts, racquetball courts, and locker room facilities. The fitness centers also offer equipment rental, orientations, personal training, and aerobics classes, free of charge.

Additionally, Sheppard Fitness offers two outdoor running tracks, a par course, Four Beaver Fit training lockers, tennis courts, softball fields, and multi-purpose sports fields. Fitness also hosts 5K Runs and five intramural sports leagues throughout the year.

Aerobic ClassesThe Fitness centers offer free aerobics classes throughout the week, including indoor cycling.  Each month the schedule is posted online, on our Facebook, and at the Fitness Centers. Some of the Fitness Classes include but aren't limited to Ab Blaster, Body Sculpt, Extreme HIIT, Dance Mix, Indoor Cycling, Kick Boxing, Upperbody blast, Lower Body Blast & more

Wellbeats Fitness on Demand KioskLocated in the Levitow Aerobics room.  The kiosk offers 100s of instructor-led classes, including spin and yoga, and is available for use at all times as long as there is not an aerobics class taking place.

5K's & Fun RunsFitness hosts several 5Ks throughout the year.  Upcoming runs are advertised online, on our Facebook pages, and at the fitness centers.

Fitness Incentive ProgramsThe Fitness centers provide all-year-round incentive programs, including the Million Pound Club, the Race Across Texas, the Mt. Everest Challenge, and the Tour du Leman rowing challenge.

What is the age policy for the Fitness Centers?Children six years and under are not permitted in the fitness centers, except in the parent-child room at the Levitow Fitness Center or when accompanying a parent or guardian as a spectator to a sporting event.

Children 6 – 12 years old are not permitted in the cardio or weight areas, and may only participate in age-appropriate activities with a parent or guardian in the racquetball courts or gymnasium.

Children 13 – 15 years old may workout with a parent/guardian in the fitness centers, provided that they are under constant supervision.

Children 16 and older are welcome to use the fitness centers without a parent or guardian.

Is there a Parent-Child area?The Levitow Fitness Center offers a Parent-Child room, equipped with cardio equipment, a children’s play area, and a DVD player with a selection of children’s movies. Parents with children under the age of 6 may use this room.

What equipment do the Fitness Centers have?Both fitness centers offer a variety of cardiovascular, aerobics, and strength training equipment, including free weight equipment, plate loaded, and cable equipment.

Do I have to pay for Fitness Classes?No, our Aerobics classes are free of charge. Each month, the schedule is available on our website and Facebook pages and at the Fitness Centers.
